The air-handling unit in a typicalchilled water variable air volume (VAV) system includes two separate chilledand hot water loops. This configuration eliminates the opportunity to use bothloops for cooling during the hot summer and for heating during the cold winter.This article presents various alternative design options and control forchilled water VAV systems with water-cooled chillers.
