Full Description

Air leaks in buildings are important to be measured since they impact energy use and indoor air quality (IAQ). A novel Zonal Multipoint Pressure Testing (ZMPT) procedure is presented that determines a zone’s external and internal leakage parameters from one test procedure, in contrast with conventional methods. This paper reports the results of an experimental comparison of the ZMPT and conventional methods in a number of new and existing buildings, proposes a method to quantify leak measurement uncertainty, and compares the trade-offs between single point and multipoint tests in terms predicting the naturally occurring low-pressure leakage.
