3833 North Broadway is an eight-story mixed-use apartment and retail building in Chicago that occupies the entire urban lot on which it was built. Its geothermal field, which uses 60 vertical boreholes, was installed beneath the building to provide source water to serve the heating and cooling needs for the apartments, common areas and retail spaces. Its 100% occupancy energy use intensity is 22.5 kBtu/ft2yr.
