Full Description

This article describes a potential pathway for automating and optimizing the fuel feed to boilers as a function of the measured contemporaneous hourly outside air temperature in the area surrounding the building being served by the HVAC system. Implementation of such a system could result in a significant decrease in the emission of greenhouse gasesand in the incurred fuel cost for heating the buildingwhile ensuring the comfort of the buildings occupants. Based on the current state of technology for boilers and the related control mechanisms, adoption of the proposed measures appears to be feasible for existing and new HVAC systems.
