The air-handling unit of a typicalvariable air volume (VAV) system includes two coils connected to two separatewater loops. This eliminates the opportunity to use both already-installedpiping systems and coils during full cooling or heating seasons. This articleproposes two possible improvements with several configuration options forchilled-water VAV systems with air-cooled chillers.
