This paper stresses the need for establishing a regular publication that addresses both regional and national water conservation issues. The paper points out that there are a few publications that provide new and relevant information on conservation but their focus is limited to their home region. The paper describes a web-based survey that was sent out in December of 2003 to water conservationists in the U.S. with questions on topics that included: the need for, and interest in, a nationally distributed but regionally focusedpublication on water conservation;the willingness to pay for such a publication;the preferred publication frequency and distribution method (hard copy, electronic, etc);key issues to be covered on a regular basis; and,AWWA's and the Water Conservation Division's role in such a publication.
