Description / Abstract: Introduction

This Part provides the state transition tables for the user side and network side of Part 402 procedures.

CDPD MAC procedures are asymmetrical. This means that the behavior and procedures for user side CDPD devices differ from the behavior and procedures used by network side CDPD devices. Four state transition tables are provided: one each for the user side forward and reverse channel procedures and one for the network side Reverse Channel procedures and one for the network side Forward Channel procedures.

The following sections provide informative overviews of the network side forward channel and reverse channel procedures.

In the event of any conflict, either real or perceived, between this Part and Part 402, that conflict shall be resolved in favor of Part 402.
